Did you tumble across a problem in your computer’s IEEE 1394 FireWire port, after upgrading it to Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 from Windows 7? This problem is known to Microsoft, thankfully they have released a update to fix the issue.

I'm leaving for an airport myself in about half an hour, and won't have time to try to debug this until when I get back after the thanksgiving weekend, but it seems like this actually is a fairly rare occurrence.

In fact, I think I only made it happen with the Fedora kernel I had installed initially, and haven't seen it since I recompiled my own. So I think you can ignore it, if I see it again I'll try to figure out if I can tell what triggers it.
